Google Messages recently received a Material You makeover and a redesigned account switcher. Now, as per the latest user report, Google Messages is set to receive one more interesting feature soon. According to a screenshot shared by a Reddit user, u/seeareeff, Google Messages will allow you to create your own user profile.

Do note that the profile page was actually discovered by Esper’s Mishal Rahman. This profile page was discovered by going to the app’s Settings menu and searching for profiles. The page isn’t functional at the moment. However, once the page becomes functional, Google Messages users can create their own profile with a photo, name, and email address.

Looking at the screenshot, it doesn’t appear that users will be able to choose who can view their profiles. But as the feature materializes, chances are it could get a visibility option to select who can view the profile: Public, Contacts, or Only You. If you set your privacy to ‘Public,’ everyone can see your profile, including those to whom you respond.

Google Messages’ new delivery indicators coming to more beta users

There is a ‘Notifications For Contact Updates’ toggle, which would allow you to receive a notification when anyone of your contacts makes changes to their profile. And the ‘Notifications For New Contacts Found’ option will send you a notification when a new contact is found.

While the Google Messages create your profile feature is still under development, the messaging app is extending a new feature to more beta users. After initial testing, Google Messages It is getting the delivery indicators to more people. For sent messages, you will see a single circle indicator. For delivered messages, you will see two circle indicators side by side. Also, the indicators fill up once the text gets read.

You will see these new Google Messages delivery indicators on your devices enrolled in the Google Messages beta program. There is no ETA mentioned for the features, especially the Google Messages create your own profile feature, as it seems to be still under development.
